Important 2026 legal update
On January 1, 2026, the former version of California Education Code section 47607.2 was repealed and replaced. The new renewal criteria no longer require middle-performing charter schools to demonstrate progress through the former “verified data” process.
This list should therefore be treated as historical and contextual—not as a current statement that these assessments are required or independently sufficient for a 2026 charter renewal decision. Consult current law, California Department of Education guidance, and qualified counsel for a specific renewal.
What the former list represented
Under the former AB 1505 renewal framework, the California State Board of Education adopted assessments that could qualify as academic progress indicators when used within the state’s verified-data criteria and procedures. Inclusion on the list did not mean that purchasing or administering an assessment automatically demonstrated measurable growth.
