FRMT0009 Invalid column count for file type

Format for invalid column (fields) count based on file type

SELA0001 Invalid Submitter

Reporting LEA must equal CDS code associated with submitter User ID.

SELA0002 Invalid Reporting School

School must be a valid code in CDS and have an active CALPADS reporting relationship with the Reporting LEA.

SELA0006 Invalid Academic Year

Academic Year ID must be a valid academic school year combination and no more than one year in the future

SELA0007 Invalid SSID

SSID must be a valid CALPADS SSID in the ODS

SELA0008 Retired SSID -- (XXX) SSID Replaced With Current SSID (XXX).

If SSID is retired and Student Gender Code and Student Date of Birth Year in file match Student Gender Code and Student Date of Birth Year of current SSID in ODS, then replace with current SSID for student

SELA0009 Invalid Characters in Field

Field must only contain Alphabetic letters, numbers, periods, hyphens and apostrophes.

Any other ascii code characters will be rejected.  Check for hidden characters.

SELA0033 Invalid Record Type

If Student English Language Acquisition, then Record Type Code must equal SELA

SELA0054 English Language Acquisition Status Start Date Less Than Birth Date

English Language Acquisition Status Start Date must be greater than Student Birth Date

SELA0072 Retired SSID -- Mismatch of SSID Demographics

If SSID is retired and Student Gender Code and Student Date of Birth Year in file do not match the Student Gender Code and the Student Date of Birth Year of current SSID in the latest SELA ODS record, then do not replace SSID

SELA0164 Missing English Language Acquisition Status Start Date

If English Language Acquisition Status Code is not NULL, then English Language Acquisition Status Start Date must be populated

SELA0181 Delete Submitted For Non-Existing Record

The submitted record attempts to delete a record that does not exist in CALPADS

SELA0215 English Language Acquisition Status Start Date Greater Than the Current System Date

English Language Acquisition Status Start Date must be less than or equal to current date

SELA0255 Invalid Change In English Language Acquisition Status Code

If a student's English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) Code is being submitted--- then the most recent ELAS Code currently stored in the CALPADS ODS must be a valid ELAS in combination with the subsequent ELAS being submitted. Reference (Valid Code Combos--- Current ELAS-Submtd ELAS)

SELA0266 Invalid Initial English Language Acquisition Status Code For Newly Enrolled Student

If no English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) Code exists in the ODS for a student--- then the ELAS code being submitted must equal TBD--- EO--- IFEP--- or EL.

SELA0280 The Primary Language And ELAS Combination Is Not Valid.

Student Primary Language Code cannot equal English (00) or American Sign Language (37) when English Language Acquisition Status Code is not EO

SELA0281 Invalid English Language Acquisition Status Code For Student

There is already an ELAS status in the CALPADS ODS; therefore the TBD status is not allowed.

SELA0283 Date Mismatch For English Language Acquisition Status Code

If the English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) code being submitted does not match any ELAS code in CALPADS, then the ELAS Start Date being submitted must be greater than the most recent ELAS Start Date in CALPADS.  (In other words, you are trying to create a new ELAS record that PRE-DATES one or more records in CALPADS for the same language designation.  Shame on you! :)

SELA0285 Date Out of Sequence For English Language Acquisition Status Code

If ELAS code being submitted does not equal any ELAS code in ODS--- then ELAS Start Date being submitted must be greater than the most recent ELAS Start Date in the ODS.

SELA0301 SELA record not permitted for Grade Level

If  Record Type Code = SELA then Student's Grade Level Code cannot equal IN, TD, PS, or AD

SELA0322 Primary Language must equal English (00) or Sign Language (37) when English Language Acquisition Status Code equals EO

SELA0323 Invalid use of Correction Reason Code

Correction Reason Code may only be populated when the ELAS Start Date is in the same academic year as the immediate previous SELA record ELAS start date and the immediate previous SELA record ELAS Start Date >= July 1, 2018

SELA0324 Evidence of Non-English Primary Language Correction Reason Code requires a previous English Only ELAS code

Evidence of Non-English Primary Language Code may only be populated when student has a previous English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) code equal to EO

SELA0325 Invalid change in English Language Acquisition Status Code with Correction Reason

If a student's English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) Code and Correction Reason Code are is being submitted, then the immediate previouis ELAS Code currently stored in the CALPADS ODS must be a valid ELAS in combination with the subsequent ELAS and Correction Reason Code being submitted. SELA0326 Duplicate SELA Records Submitted for the Same Student 

A student must not have duplicate SELA record with the same ELA status code, ELAS Start Date from two different reporting LEAs  

SELA0520 Invalid EL or IFEP ELAS Code Change without Valid Correction Reason Code

English Learner (EL) and Initial Fluent English Proficient (IFEP) English Language Acquisition Status  (ELAS) Codes must be submitted with a valid Correction Reason Code

SELA0524 Invalid Adult English Learner Code (ADEL) English Language Acquisition Status Code

Students who are designated Adult English Learners (ADEL) must be aged 22 years or older and enrolled in Grades TK through 12

SELA0525 Invalid "TBD" English Language Acquisition Status Code

Students who are aged 22 years or older cannot be "To Be Determined" (TBD)

SELA0526 Invalid "EL" English Language Acquisition Status Code

English Learners who are aged 22 years or older and Enrolled in Grades KN through 12 must be designated Adult English Learner (ADEL)

SELA0549 Invalid Deletion of English Learner SELA Record

Invalid deletion of English Learner SELA Record when Reclassified Fluent English Proficient (RFEP) record exists for student

SELA0589 RFEP Student cannot be reclassified prior to being administered the summative assessment.

Summative testing window begins annually on February 1st; therefore, a student who took the initial on or after July 1st of same AY cannot be reclassified prior to that date.

SELA0629 Invalid ELor IFEP ELAS Code with Correction Reason Code

Submitted SELA record with a Correction Reason Reason Code where English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) Code is English Learner (EL) or Initial Fluent English Proficient (IFEP) may not exist if it's the only SELA record for a student.

SELA0652 Missing Enrollment Record for RFEP Student

If a student's English Language Acquisition Status = Reclasified Fluent English Proficient (RFEP), they must have an overlapping primary enrollment
